There’s something special about Dumaguete , a small city with a big heart. You feel it the moment you arrive. The warm smiles, the familiar faces, and the slower pace of life make you feel at home right away. Dumaguete may be known as the "City of Gentle People," but it’s so much more than that. It’s a place that makes you feel like family, even if you’re a stranger.

One of the things I’ve always loved is the laid-back province life. Everything is within reach .the beach, the mountains, the cafés, and of course, the amazing people. A typical day can start with coffee at a café near Rizal Boulevard, followed by a quiet stroll, or maybe some running by the beach. Then you end the day watching the sunset ,Dumaguete’s charm is in its simplicity.

Every day in Dumaguete feels relaxed and meaningful. I enjoy walking through the city, seeing people smile, and feeling the gentle sea breeze that brings comfort after a long day of classes. The streets are always alive, but never overwhelming. Tricycles pass by, students chat after school, and locals go about their routines with ease. Everything moves at a pace that allows you to breathe, reflect, and simply enjoy the moment.

What I love most about Dumaguete is how it treats students like family. The people are friendly and approachable. Whether it’s a vendor, a jeepney driver, or a fellow student, everyone shows kindness and respect. It’s easy to feel at home here because the community is filled with warmth and sincerity.

Dumaguete City teaches me that life does not have to be rushed. It reminds me to take things one step at a time, to enjoy small joys like eating local food after class or watching the sunset with friends. It’s a city that allows you to grow without losing yourself in the chaos of modern life.

For me, Dumaguete City is more than just a place to study. It’s a home away from home, where peace, friendship, and learning come together in the most natural way. Indeed, Duma get me.
